Canada Invited 636 Express Entry Candidates to Apply for Permanent Residence on June 22

All Express Entry Candidates had a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of at least 752 and had previously been nominated by a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).Because Express Entry candidates automatically receive a 600 point boost when they receive a provincial nomination, the required minimum score was quite high.

Without the nomination, the candidates with the lowest scores would have had 152 base points. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) welcomed 932 Express Entry applicants having scores of at least 796 in the previous draw.

Could this be the last PNP draw?

The IRCC is “tentatively” planning to resume all-program draws on July 6, according to Immigration Minister Sean Fraser, who talked with CIC News yesterday at the Collision Conference in Toronto.

Fraser stated in April of last year that Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates will once again get Express Entry invites by early July, although Fraser did not specify a timeframe at the time.

The IRCC has only conducted draws for PNP candidates since September 2021.To lessen the Express Entry backlog, which was made worse by the pandemic, IRCC has temporarily halted draws for CEC and FSWP applicants.

Since the announcement, IRCC’s application inventory for the three Express Entry programmers has increased. It has 31,603 as of June 1 as opposed to 40,889 at the end of April.

Even though all-program drawings might resume in two weeks, the PNP draws might not be completely over. The IRCC occasionally conducted PNP-only draws prior to the epidemic. According to IRCC, the PNP is crucial to assisting the economic development of all Canadian regions.

What is Express Entry?

The three most well-liked immigration programmed in Canada are the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class. If the application is accepted, IRCC will issue a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR). After landing, authorized permanent residents can complete the procedure. If they are outside of Canada, they can find pre-arrival programming to help them with the first steps of settling in Canada.

As Canada moves closer to its goal of adding 431,645 new permanent residents by 2022, stakeholders anticipate seeing a significant number of invites back in July. With program-specific drawings during the COVID-19 crisis, CRS ratings are still challenging to predict.
